Porsche will expand its model range with an electric crossover with a three-row cabin. In the hierarchy of the brand, it will be located above the Cayenne, writes Automotive News.
So far, the model is known under the codename K1. Dealers who have seen the car, described it as unusual in design for Porsche. One even called it a hybrid of sedan and crossover. However, in this case it is unclear how three rows of seats can be placed.
Porsche hinted that the large crossover will receive, among other things, a 920-volt on-board electrical architecture (now the maximum in the industry is 800 V) and components of an oil-cooled electric power plant. Given the known details, it is logical to assume that the future novelty will be the most expensive serial Porsche of the «mass» models.
Last summer, the head of Porsche Oliver Blum said that the company is interested in entering new market segments with high margins. Even then, he hinted at an electric crossover, but voiced fewer details.
