Presentation of Porsche Macan second generation is postponed – the crossover will not appear until 2024. Porsche representatives have officially confirmed the information about the delayed market launch of the model to the British publication Autocar.
The new Porsche Macan was supposed to be presented in 2023. However, delays with software development E3 1.2 do not allow releasing electric crossover in time – its debut had to be postponed for a year.
Volkswagen has long been experiencing problems with the software for electric models, which is being developed by the Cariad division. Previously, for this reason postponed the presentation of the first electric car Bentley – it will be in 2026. It is possible that the Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman electric cars will also be presented later than planned.
Also it was because of slow software development that the head of Volkswagen Group Herbert Diess resigned. Former Porsche CEO Oliver Blumet has been appointed in his place.
